If you have access to software for terrain plotting I am located at OS Grid Ref; SD934540 and Locater: IO83WX. One such suite of software can be found on the internet by G4JNT and I used 'VIEW' to give a plot of the QTH which clearly shows the rings of hills. I hope you too have fun with this.
My station is very simple consisting of an Icom IC-706 MKII with a Comet GP-15N tri-band Collinear for 6/2/70 which is at 6M agl. Max pwr 100 Watts on 50 Mhz and 20 Watts on 144 Mhz.
On HF I use a homebrew G5IJ end-fed monopole antenna 20M long and 5m agl at the highest point which then slopes down the garden to 2M agl and then down vertically to within 0.5m of the ground. This is then coax fed to an atu in the shack with the antenna tuning from 1.8 Mhz to 28 Mhz. Max pwr 100 Watts. This antenna has surprised me by how well it works at both NVIS and DX contacts. Further info on the G5IJ is available on the internet.
