Welcome to my pages on the CRAG website.

I live in the village of Gargrave in the Yorkshire Dales, further info and a virtual tour can be found at
www.gargrave.org.uk

My main area of interest is the propagation of VHF/UHF signals. I operate mainly on 50Mhz due to the numerous means of propagation that can be found in this part of the VHF spectrum.I try to call daily on 50Mhz SSB throughout the year and the band can open at times when most consider it dead.
I am a member of the UK Six Metre Group (UKSMG) my membership number being 2335.

On 144 Mhz I use both FM and SSB checking every day for condx.

My QTH is in the centre of a bowl of hills which forms a natural parabola. This bowl is formed by three concentric rings of hills of ascending height and signals at VHF/UHF, other than skywave, are received/transmitted by diffraction.
This poses a challenge which in itself makes all qso's valued.
